A.K.A.

What’s your name? How many times have you been asked that question? Your response is the same every time, right? You quickly spout off, my name is... without a second thought. But have you ever considered the fact that our names become a part of our identity? Our birth name may carry special family significance, or have a descriptive root meaning, and without even realizing it, the meaning behind our name helps shape who we are.

The same thing happens when we receive Jesus as the forgiver of our sins and the leader of our lives. We are given spiritual names, and those names become our new identity.

Join us as we look at five names God gives us as His children that reflect who we are in Him. Discover how to fully embrace your new identity in Christ - the A.K.A.s God has given you.

First Things First

A new year brings new beginnings. It also brings new thoughts, new resolutions, new to-do lists, and new priorities. But here’s the thing: The most important thing doesn’t always get the first priority - but it should. What will it take to stop being distracted by the urgent and start focusing on the meaningful?

If you’ve been at NewPointe long enough, you know we firmly believe that everyone spends forever somewhere. This weighty statement drives everything we do. And when we embrace it, we begin to see the world around us differently: our family, co-workers, friends, and neighbors.

So, what will it take for you to focus on what’s most important? Join us as we take a look at putting First Things First.

Christmas: From Manger to Majesty

As Christmas approaches each year, it’s easy to get caught up in the WHAT and WHEN of the season: what presents to buy, when to visit family, what to make for Christmas dinner . . . the list is endless. But Christmas isn’t really about all the WHATS and WHENS, it’s about WHO. Throughout the month of December, we will dig deeper into the birth, life, and death of Jesus, and we’ll discover how His time spent on earth as both man and God changed the course of history, and the course of our lives, forever.

Join us at one of our locations nearest you as we learn about the One who, over the course of 2,000 years, has impacted the world as He moved from manger to majesty.

Day of Generosity

God’s Word tells us that it is more blessed to give than to receive, but what does that really mean? The world around us often encourages us to look out only for ourselves, but God calls us to something different. He calls us to be generous with one another because generosity not only benefits those on the receiving end, but it also bears incredible benefits in our own lives.

Join us for a special message on generosity and how we can live a generous life.

Uncovered

The sexual awakening didn’t begin in the 60s. It began at creation, when Adam awoke from the first surgery and saw what God had fashioned. Sex in its original, purest form was designed by God. Along with this gift came standards for it. Unfortunately, sex has been misused and abused in our world today. Culture often encourages a selfish, pleasure-seeking view of sex, while God calls us to sexual purity; a purity that begins in our hearts and minds.

We will take a deeper look at sex as a gift created for us by God, discuss the truth about God’s standards for sex, and learn how we can protect ourselves and our children in an X-rated world.

Join us as we learn the importance of approaching sex in a healthy, God-honoring way. Our hope is that through this series, God’s original design and purpose for sex will be Uncovered. Rated PG-13.

Misunderstood

How often have you misjudged someone? We all do it. We assume something about a person based on what we’ve heard, or what we’ve seen. It’s not until we really listen and get to know them that we realize just how wrong we’ve been. We do the same thing with God sometimes. We misjudge His character because of something we’ve heard, or maybe because it seems like our prayers have gone unanswered. When we let our misconceptions about God shape our view of Him, our suspicions grow and our faith weakens.

Throughout the month of October, we will uncover four essential truths about God and His character that will enable us to get to know Him better.

Join us at one of our locations nearest to you as we learn the truth about who God really is, and how knowing the truth can help us trust Him more. Our view of God is the most important thing about us, and in this series, you will be encouraged to examine how you currently view God, and then adjust that view based on the truths we uncover. Our hope is that God will no longer be MISUNDERSTOOD.
