To All of Our Graduates

To All of Our Graduates

May 18, 2026

Congratulations to all of our graduates – whether from high school, college, or any other program. You started a journey, have met multiple challenges, and now you have crossed a finish line. That’s worth celebrating. You have invested long hours, made sacrifices, formed friendships, and have grown in ways your diploma will never show. Graduation is evidence of your discipline and perseverance. It’s also a wonderful time to express gratitude to the people around you who supported and encouraged you.

But this is not the end. It is a chapter in what promises to be a wonderful future. To make certain that happens, I challenge you to never quit learning. Life will continue to present new questions and opportunities. Stay curious. Refuse the temptation to think you know enough. Read widely, ask honest questions, learn skills that stretch you, and receive correction and new perspectives. The way we stay fulfilled and useful in a changing world is through continuous growth and learning.

Surround yourself with wisdom. Proverbs 13:20 NIV says, "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm." Make sure the companions you have for this next season are ones who lift you, who have the courage and ability to tell you the truth in love, and whose character and competence are strong and clear. Relationships will shape your decisions more than anything else, so make sure you consistently invest in people who push you toward growth and integrity.

Your inner life is the source of your outer life. Guard it. It directs your choices, and your choices direct your destiny. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us, "Guard your heart above all else, for everything you do flows from it." Make certain you protect your values, your emotional and spiritual health, and the priorities that matter most. Never say, “Just this one time.” Your convictions must guide your career choices, relationships, and how you measure success 100% of the time.

You have what it takes to live a wonderful life as you walk with God. Don’t get discouraged by setbacks. They happen to us all. Setbacks are not the end – they are the source of feedback, new information, and redirection. Serve confidently. Be generous with gratitude. When you succeed, be humble. Remember that graduation is both a celebration and the beginning of new responsibilities and opportunities. If following Jesus is your priority, your journey will be a true adventure.
