One of the reasons I am so grateful and proud of our church is because we believe the next generation matters.
This past week, our church was filled with energy, excitement, laughter, and life as approximately 550 children participated in an action-packed 3-day experience. Even more inspiring was seeing 150 volunteers invest their time, talents, and hearts to make it happen.
For 3 days, our campus became more than just a place for activities. It became a place where children learned biblical truths, discovered God’s love, built friendships, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Here are the 3 truths they learned: Jesus is the way, Jesus is alive, and the Holy Spirit helps me.
In a world where so many voices compete for the attention of our children, the church has a unique opportunity and responsibility. We aren’t simply entertaining kids – we are helping shape their worldview. We are teaching them who God is, how much He loves them, and how His truth can guide their lives.
The reality is that spiritual foundations are often formed early in life. The lessons children learn today can influence the decisions they make tomorrow. The songs they sing, the Scriptures they memorize, the conversations they have with leaders, and the friendships they build can become anchors that help them navigate life’s challenges for years to come.
What excites me most is that ministry to children is never just about the children. Every child represents a family. When a child experiences God’s love, it often opens doors for parents, siblings, grandparents, and entire households to experience that same love.
I am grateful for every volunteer who served. Whether they led a small group, prepared snacks, managed activities, checked children in, cleaned up, or simply offered a smile, they made an eternal difference. Ministry is rarely about what happens on a stage; it’s about faithful people investing in others one relationship at a time.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” Those words continue to guide us today. When we invest in children, we are investing in the future of the church, the future of families, and the future of our communities.
So this week, my heart is full of gratitude.
I love my church because we are committed to helping people follow Jesus at every age. I love my church because hundreds of volunteers willingly give their time to serve others. And I love my church because we believe that every child matters to God.
3 days. 550 kids. 150 volunteers. Countless seeds planted that will produce fruit for eternity.
