For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. Titus 2:11-14 NLT
Paul wrote a letter to Titus, his son in the Lord who was also a pastor, and very naturally spoke about how different life is if Jesus is God. If Jesus is God, He is the source of God’s grace and He offers salvation to all people. If you have received His salvation, and Jesus is YOUR God, your life is no longer your own.
Your primary responsibility is total surrender, bowing to His authority. Acknowledge Jesus as King over your schedule, choices, and ambitions. Put aside your self-focused desires to follow His lead. Trust Him deeply. Rest in His supreme wisdom and power instead of leaning on your own understanding.
Then obey His commands with your whole heart. Let His words shape how you live, speak, think, and treat others every single day. Serve others humbly. Use your time and abilities to love the poor, the weak, and the lost. Listen to His voice, and when He shows you an area of life that needs change, repent quickly and turn away from your sin.
As you live, share the truth about Jesus. You don’t need to argue with anyone. You don’t need to have all the answers. Just simply tell your story of how knowing Jesus has changed you and your life. Live out His love. Allow His character to be your standard and your source for your daily actions. Stay closely connected to Him. Jesus said that when you do, He will be the Vine and you will be a branch, drawing your life and strength from Him. You will be enabled to do good with a strong and joy-filled spirit every day.
You will be enabled to live in this world with anticipation and hope because you know that Jesus, your God, and King, is coming back and every day is one day closer to His return. If Jesus is God, everything changes.
