Today’s Scripture: Matthew 4:19
When Jesus called His first disciples, He made them a promise: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of people.”
Notice the order: First, follow me. Then, I will make you. Finally, fishers of people.
Many people focus immediately on the mission while overlooking the process. Jesus never called people to simply go accomplish great things for Him. He first invited them into relationship.
As the disciples spent time with Jesus, something began to change. They watched Him touch lepers, welcome children, forgive sinners, and pursue those society often ignored. Gradually, they began seeing people through His eyes.
That is the heart of evangelism. It is not about having all the answers. It is not about winning arguments. It is about caring enough about people to introduce them to Jesus.
God has strategically placed people around you. Family members. Friends. Coworkers. Neighbors. Classmates. People who may never attend a church service but who encounter your life every day. Following Jesus naturally leads us toward people who need Him.
The most effective witnesses are not necessarily the most knowledgeable. They are often the most authentic. A transformed life becomes a powerful testimony of God’s grace.
As you continue following Jesus, ask Him to help you see people the way He does. Ask Him to give you compassion, courage, and opportunities to influence others for His Kingdom.
The mission begins right where you are.

Who are three people in your life who need encouragement, hope, or a relationship with Jesus? Begin praying for them by name this week.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for first calling me to follow before sending me to others. Help me see the people around me through Your eyes. Give me compassion, courage, and opportunities to point family, friends, and neighbors toward You. Let my transformed life be a testimony of Your grace.
