Today’s Scripture: Romans 12:2
Followers of Jesus are called to live differently.
The culture around us constantly encourages accumulation, comparison, and self-promotion. We are told that happiness is found in acquiring more and that success is measured by what we possess.
Jesus offers a different way. He calls His followers to live with eternal values rather than temporary priorities. While the world asks, “How much can I keep?” Followers of Jesus ask, “How much can I steward for God’s purposes?” While the world encourages selfishness, Jesus calls us to generosity. While the world promotes consumption, Jesus calls us to contribution.
Living differently does not mean rejecting possessions or success. It means refusing to allow those things to become the center of our lives.
- Our identity is not found in what we own
- Our security is not found in our wealth
- Our hope is not found in our circumstances
- Our lives are rooted in Christ
As followers of Jesus, we become living examples of a different Kingdom. The way we handle our resources, our relationships, and our priorities should point people toward Him.
When people see generosity, gratitude, contentment, and trust in our lives, they see evidence of a different way to live.
A Kingdom way.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
What is one area where your lifestyle could more clearly reflect the values of Jesus rather than the values of culture?
PRAYER
Jesus, You call me to live by eternal values in a culture that chases more. Help me ask not how much I can keep, but how much I can steward for Your purposes. Root my identity, security, and hope in You rather than in what I possess. Let my generosity, gratitude, and contentment point others toward the better way of Your Kingdom.
