Everyone Has a Plan

Everyone Has a Plan

October 25, 2026

Today’s Scripture: Matthew 6:33

Whether we realize it or not, everyone has a plan for their life. We have plans for our time, our money, our relationships, and our future. Some plans are carefully organized. Others simply develop through habits and priorities. Either way, our lives tend to move in the direction of what we value most.

Jesus challenged His followers to examine their priorities with one simple instruction: “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else.”

Notice that Jesus does not say the Kingdom should be one priority among many. He says it should come first. The order matters.

Many people approach God as an addition to their plans rather than the foundation of them. We often build our lives around work, family, recreation, financial goals, and personal ambitions, then try to fit God somewhere into the remaining space.

Jesus offers a different approach. He teaches that when God becomes our highest priority, everything else begins to find its proper place.

Seeking God’s Kingdom first affects our decisions, our spending, our relationships, and our purpose. It shifts our focus from temporary concerns to eternal priorities.

The question is not whether you have a plan. The question is whether God’s priorities are shaping it.

A life centered on Christ is not built around what we want God to do for us. It is built around what He wants to do through us.

PERSONAL REFLECTION

Take a few minutes to evaluate your priorities. What does your calendar, attention, and spending reveal about what comes first in your life?

PRAYER

Father, You know the plans I build for my time, money, and future. Forgive me for trying to fit You into the leftover spaces of my life rather than building everything around You. Help me seek Your Kingdom above all else, so that every priority finds its proper place. Shape my plans around what You want to do through me.
