Today’s Scripture: Matthew 6:33
Jesus spoke these words to people who worried about many of the same things we worry about today: food, finances, responsibilities, the future.
Yet in the middle of those concerns, Jesus offered a remarkable promise: “Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Jesus was not dismissing real needs. He was addressing misplaced priorities.
Worry often grows when we focus on what we cannot control. Faith grows when we focus on the One who is in control.
Seeking God’s Kingdom first means trusting that He knows what we need before we ask. It means believing that His wisdom is greater than our own and His plans are better than anything we could design for ourselves.
This kind of trust does not happen automatically. It grows through daily decisions. Every time we choose obedience over convenience, generosity over fear, or surrender over control, we are seeking His Kingdom first.
The invitation of Jesus is not simply to believe in Him. It is to trust Him enough to reorder our lives around Him.
As we do, we discover that God is faithful. He provides, He leads, He sustains, and He always keeps His promises.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
What area of your life is competing with God’s rightful place as your highest priority? Ask Him to help you seek His Kingdom first.
PRAYER
Lord, like those who first heard Your words, I worry about my needs and the future. Thank You for the promise that when I seek Your Kingdom first, You will provide all I need. Help me trust that You know my needs before I ask and that Your plans are better than my own. Teach me to reorder my life around You, one daily decision at a time.
