Today’s Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:11
Scripture tells us that God has placed eternity in the human heart. Deep within every person is a longing for something more.
People search for meaning through success, relationships, possessions, achievement, and experiences. Yet none of those things can fully satisfy the deepest needs of the soul.
Why? Because we were created for God. The longing for purpose, significance, and belonging ultimately points back to Him. Many people may not recognize it, but their search is often spiritual.
The coworker chasing success. The friend struggling with anxiety. The neighbor looking for acceptance. The family member wrestling with questions. Behind many of life’s pursuits is a deeper desire for something eternal.
This reality should fill us with both compassion and urgency.
People do not simply need better circumstances. They need Jesus.
The gospel addresses humanity’s deepest need by reconnecting us with the God who created us and loves us.
When we understand that eternity is at stake, everyday interactions take on greater significance.
The people around us are not merely passing acquaintances. They are eternal souls loved by God. And He may choose to use us to help point them toward Him.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
Pray for someone who is searching for purpose, hope, or meaning. Ask God to reveal Himself to them and show you how you can encourage them.
PRAYER
Father, You have placed eternity in every human heart, and the longings we chase ultimately point back to You. Today, I lift up ____________, who is searching for purpose, hope, and meaning. Reveal Yourself to them and draw them close, and help me remember they do not simply need better circumstances; they need Jesus. Show me how I can encourage them and point them toward You.
