Today’s Scripture: John 6:44
Before speaking to people about God, speak to God about people.
Prayer is one of the most important parts of sharing our faith. Jesus taught that no one comes to Him unless the Father draws them. This reminds us that salvation is ultimately God’s work.
Our responsibility is not to convince people. Our responsibility is to pray, love, and faithfully share.
Prayer prepares hearts. It softens resistance. It opens doors. It creates opportunities. It also prepares us. As we pray for people, our compassion grows. Our awareness increases. Our courage strengthens.
Many of the spiritual conversations we experience begin long before words are spoken. They begin in prayer.
Imagine what could happen if every follower of Jesus consistently prayed for people who were far from God. Families could change. Friendships could change. Communities could change.
Never underestimate the power of praying by name for specific people.
- God hears
- God works
- God draws people to Himself
Prayer is not the preparation for ministry. Prayer is ministry.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
Write down the names of three people who are far from God. Commit to praying for them every day this week.
PRAYER
Lord, teach me to speak to You about people before I speak to people about You. I confess that salvation is Your work, not mine to accomplish through persuasion. As I pray for those far from You, soften their hearts and open doors, and prepare me with compassion, awareness, and courage. Help me faithfully lift up specific people by name, trusting that You hear and You draw people to Yourself.
