Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 9:22
The apostle Paul understood an important principle: People are more likely to listen when they know they are loved.
Paul intentionally looked for common ground with others so he could build relationships and share Christ. He did not compromise the message. He simply worked hard to understand people and connect with them.
Building bridges takes time. It requires listening. It requires empathy. It requires genuine interest in others. Many people are eager to share their beliefs but unwilling to build relationships.
Jesus modeled a different approach. He spent time with people. He shared meals. He listened to their stories. He entered their world.
Authentic relationships create opportunities for meaningful conversations. Trust opens doors. Kindness lowers defenses. Friendship creates influence.
God often uses ordinary interactions to prepare people for spiritual conversations.
The goal is not to treat people like projects. The goal is to love them genuinely.
As relationships deepen, opportunities naturally emerge to share what God has done in your life. People may not immediately accept your beliefs. But they are more likely to listen when they know you care.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
Identify one relationship you would like to strengthen. Take a practical step this week to invest time and attention in that person.
PRAYER
Father, You sent Jesus to enter our world, share our table, and listen to our stories. Help me build genuine bridges to others through listening, empathy, and real interest. Keep me from treating people as projects, and teach me to love them sincerely. Use my ordinary interactions and friendships to create opportunities to share what You have done in my life.
